De Tomaso Modena S.p.A. is an Italian car-manufacturing company. It was founded by Alejandro de Tomaso in Modena in 1959. The Ex-racing driver Alessandro de Tomaso, born in Argentina, and his wife, American ex-racing driver Isabell Haskell, moved to Italy in the late 1950s.

Originally, De Tomaso produced various prototypes and racing cars, including a Formula One car for Frank Williams's team in 1970.The racing cars used his own chassis and were powered first by OSCA engines and then by Ford units. Road cars came later. All the cars used big Ford V8 engines and had bodies designed and built by Ghia, a coachbuilder purchased by De Tomaso (jointly with Ford) in 1967. Vignale was also acquired and used for production, as was a later relationship with Maggiora. Originally, De Tomaso produced various prototypes and racing cars, including a Formula 1 car for Frank Williams’s team in 1970.Although car enthusiasts know De Tomaso principally as a maker of high-performance sports cars, the firm also produced luxury coupés and saloons – albeit in tiny numbers – throughout the 1970s and '80s.

The company went into liquidation in 2004. Despite this, new cars were still being made by De Tomaso as of 2005.
